The technique used here is where two bottle-necks are used - one for each hand - and where both sides of where the bottleneck touches the string are plucked. This is an improvisation for two violins, where each violin responded to the recorded sound of another violin. For this 'sounding postcard' the notation might be described as the sound itself, rather than as something written down.
