This album is the result of realisations of a small set of postcard pieces I composed earlier this year. Apart from two, all of these pieces were composed as postcards. Postcard 2 is the result of an improvisation and is therefore a 'sonic postcard', and the final duet, 'There is an infinite number of version of us' was written out conventionally. The miniature form of the postcard is a challenge to any composer; I found the format itself forcing me to concentrate on singular musical materials, where their realisations both develop and explore these materials. Therefore although these pieces were realised for multiple violins (each of which was recorded at home), they are by no means the only way to interpret the postcards.
